Florentino, has over 15 years of experience in tennis instruction, along with an instructor certification from Tennis Canada. He has taken many professional development courses throughout his career on teaching children, adults, tennis strategy and most recently has completed his respect for sport for activity leaders training.
Florentino has helped beginner children learn and enjoy the sport and some went on to become OTA (Ontario Tennis Association) tournament players. He has also trained teenagers for their high school teams and adults from beginner to advanced levels some of them later became professional tennis instructors or played competitive tennis. He prides himself on creating a fun learning environment while carefully analyzing the needs of his students. He has been a captain of various Intercounty and Scarborough Tennis Federation (STF) teams and has always focused on improvement through competition while having fun.
Off the court, Florentino is a full-time secondary teacher and Assistant Curriculum Leader. He understands the process of learning on a professional level and can apply teaching methodology to his tennis instruction. He also enjoys other racquet sports such as pickleball, badminton and table tennis.
